A braille display consists of a rectangular device with grouped rows of pins. The pins are raised and lowered to spell out letters in the braille alphabet. Braille displays use groups of 40 by 80 pins, or braille cells. Models for notetaking use cells of 10 by 40 pins. A user reads the letters by touch.
