Whenever the credits roll in a video game, gamers often deal with the question, “what’s next?” This is true for the majority of games out there, including Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot players who want to explore the franchise more after their final showdown with Kid Buu.
Luckily, there’s enough content to keep players busy for a little while longer after beating the game, and there’s definitely enough in the franchise for those who want to continue scratching the Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot itch. There’s even more on the way, with the Season Pass outlining a few new additions over the coming weeks and months, but for now, here’s a few things players can do after beating the game. NOTE: This article contains spoilers for Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot.
Unlock the Secret Boss Fight
While defeating Kid Buu may be the chronological and canonical end to the events of Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot, there’s an interesting boss fight that players can unlock that takes place after. It’s easily missable if players mainly played for the story, but essentially, players need to beat every single Villainous Party fight in the game to face off with Mira, one of the primary antagonists from Xenoverse. He’s level 100 and has a whopping 5 million HP, but he’s mostly a damage sponge. DBZ: Kakarot players 20-30 levels beneath him shouldn’t really worry about difficult then, but it does carry some interesting implications for DBZ.
Play Xenoverse and Dragon Ball FighterZ
What better way is there to continue celebrating Dragon Ball Z in video games than by re-playing or checking out Dragon Ball Xenoverse and Dragon Ball FighterZ. Both games are solid DBZ games in their own right, though of a different genre altogether, but after seeing Mira and Android 21 in DBZ: Kakarot, there may be an urge to once again see them in their standard environment. Either way, considering how the secret boss fight could potentially influence DBZ canon, it would at least be worth revisiting for the nostalgia.
Get All The Trophies/Achievements
There are games that are notoriously difficult to unlock all the trophies/achievements for, and there are those that are relatively simple. In Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot’s case, it’s the latter. Players who beat the main story, beat Mira, and have done a few of the standard achievements like using the dragon balls, cooking full course meals, and/or building the car and robot will only have a few left. Most likely, the time involved in unlocking them isn’t severe, so many could spend some extra time completing the game in this regard.
Use the Dragon Balls
Not only does this work as an achievement, but it’s useful in unlocking new Soul Emblems in DBZ: Kakarot, re-visiting fan-favorite fights, and more after beating the main game. In short, players can use them to bring back franchise villains for an extra round of fisticuffs. Players need to use them 10 times anyway, so might as well get some extra gameplay out of it. It’s worth noting, though, that revived villains will only fight certain characters.
Wait for the Time Machine
As it stands, the Time Machine in Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot doesn’t work, but its reported functionality is to go back in time and complete missed substories. It’s also likely involved in DLC and other additions to the game, so while it’s not available yet, it may be worth checking out once it is. After all, while the majority of the substories are fetch quests, there are a few that are interesting that players may want to check out.
Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot is out now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
