It’s been several months since Fortnite Chapter Two burst from the Black Hole, marking a new beginning for Epic’s Battle Royale. But despite a new map and a host of new features, Epic hasn’t rested on its laurels for a minute. Committed to keeping Fortnite fresh, the developers have kept up a steady stream of updates, challenges, and crossovers.

The latest of these crossover events, Fortnite x Star Wars, is one of its biggest yet. It all kicked off yesterday, with a live screening of a scene from the new Star Wars movie. Following this was a dogfight as the Millennium Falcon battled TIE Fighters over the Battle Island. Many of the TIE Fighters were downed in the battle, and now form the basis of one of the event’s many challenges.

TIE Fighter Locations

The TIE Fighters were scattered across the map, but thankfully are quite easy to spot. This is due to the plumes of smoke they emit, which can be spotted even from the Bus. The sites are very spread out however, and players shouldn’t expect to be able to reach all of them in a single match.

The first smashed into the ground just south of Steamy Shacks, and the second a little south-west of Sweaty Sands. The third is to the south-east of Slurpy Swamp, and the fourth and final TIE is north of Retail Row. Make sure to collect a weapon before visiting though, and definitely don’t drop straight into them.

Blast Them!

Unfortunately, the dastardly First Order haven’t left their crashed TIE Fighters undefended. Each of the sites will contain a number of First Order Stormtroopers, who will attack any player that approaches. While not particularly dangerous, the real risk is the laser-fire drawing another player to take advantage of the distraction.

To complete the challenge players must raise their banner over three of these sites, which is done by defeating the Stormtroopers. In a possible nod to the movies, the white-armored goons have come equipped with their legendary lack of accuracy. Most players will be able to make light work of them, and can expect to only take a few shots on their approach. This will be Fortnite’s final event before the holidays, and perhaps the next time we see Stormtroopers in Fortnite, they’ll be Snowtroopers instead.

Fortnite is available now on Nintendo Switch, PC, PS4, Xbox One, and mobile devices.
