When we think of the many classics that legendary writer, John Hughes has produced throughout his career and life. This film remains amongst the top of his works.Taking what would typically be a traumatic and terrifying scenario if applied to real life. Hughes manages to flip it on its head and executes a light-hearted, laugh-filled story that has watchers waiting for what will happen next.In a scenario where two adult con men break into a home they suspect is empty, only to find it guarded by an eight-year-old child. It’s hilarious how quickly the power dynamic shifts and you feel like they are at the (pranking) mercy of an incredibly resourceful child throughout the film.Home Alone excels in delivering laughs and spectacle that combine to create an unforgettable holiday viewing experience. One that I find myself returning to almost every year, and one I’d certainly recommend for any home movie night.
