Many players are likely familiar with some of the witcher schools after playing through The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. These schools are comprised of witchers who are united by common goals, ideologies, and methodologies for tackling problems.

Each school requires a particular personality type to do well under their rules and ambitions. If you’re curious about which school you’d find yourself most capable in you could compare the personality of the schools against your own Myers-Briggs personality type to find out.

8 Order Of Witchers: ISTJ, ESJF & ESTJ

The Oder Of Witchers was an experiment funded by monarchs to produce a class of knights capable of wielding magic against the monsters that roamed the land. These initial witchers were held to strict standards and operated under the employ of the kings and queens that funded their enterprise.

ISTJ personalities would do well with this strict regiment and thrive on the hard, but honorable work. ESJFs would do well given the need to represent the king or queen sponsoring them when among the public fighting monsters. And finally, ESTJs would be a good fit given their innate need to do what’s honorable, honest, and right for their employers and society.

7 School Of The Wolf: ENFP, ENTJ & ISFP

The famous School of the Wolf has produced some notable witchers who are known for the prowess in slaying a variety of fierce monsters. These warriors are flexible and adaptable enough to tackle a Griffin singlehandedly one moment and wade through a group of Rotfiends using swords and signs the next.

ENFPs would relish the out of the box thinking that requires tackling a variety of monsters types. ENTJs would like the challenge that comes with learning a variety of combat styles, signs, and techniques. ISFPs would like the camaraderie that comes from being one of the pack and fighting alongside other witchers now and then.

6 School Of The Viper: INFJ & ISTP

The School of the Viper is closely intertwined with the Wild Hunt. They are considered experts on this dangerous and mythical faction and have devoted themselves to discovering the wraiths’ secrets, and more importantly, finding any weaknesses to be exploited.

INFJs would be a welcome addition to the school thanks to their out of the box thinking and passion for puzzles and mysteries. The secrets of the Wild Hunt won’t reveal themselves, and would need individuals brimming with curiosity. ISTPs would also be handy as they could take what was learned and incorporate it into their strategies and techniques, an ISTP Viper would be unpredictable in battle and hard to face off against.

5 School Of The Cat: ESTP

The School of the Cat was ostracized by the rest of the world after their trial process led to the creation of both heartless psychopaths and overly emotional witchers. As a result, they have taken on a nomadic existence, finding work as they go and keeping to the fringes.

ESTPs would probably be the best personality type to fit in with these quirky individuals. Being a nomadic mercenary would require a lot of socializing and the ability to make fast connections. There’s also a certain level of on the fly thinking as long term planning would be all but impossible with this day-to-day kind of life.

4 School Of The Griffin: ENFJ & ESFP

The School of the Griffin is a spiritual successor to the Order. The witchers in this school pride themselves on nobility, honor, and a much stricter code of conduct than the relatively broad requirements of the general Witcher’s Code. Members of this faction see themselves as knights who seek to exploit their magical prowess to tackle large groups of foes.

ENFJ personalities would have the right charisma and social skills to befriend others, their idealistic nature also lends to being part of a band of unofficial knights. ESFPs could also find a home here using their boisterous mannerisms and extroversion to bask in the limelight that comes from being a member of this dignified school.

3 School Of The Bear: INTJ

The School of the Bear is one of the more reserved. They operate in the cold expanse of Skellige, relying upon brute strength and strong defenses to tackle the fierce creatures that stalk the locals during the long bitter nights. They keep to themselves, preferring an isolated and cloistered existence. They’ll happily take a contract, but they’ll do so on their terms and unaided.

INTJs are one of the few personality types suited for this type of life. They’re comfortable being alone and would thrive on independence and self-reliance in battle. They would take their time to devise strategies and come up with a plan before walking into any encounter.

2 School Of The Manticore: INFP & INTP

The School of the Manticore is one shrouded in a lot of mystery. What is known is that they are located somewhere to the far east and their armor is designed to exploit the magic found in alchemy. Manticore armor is built to hold a large number of vials, potions, and bombs, and comes with innate magical advantages when dabbling with creating them. It’s entirely likely that Manticores are a reserved school that houses the masters of alchemy.

INFPs would make sense in this school as they’d keep to themselves and wouldn’t boast of their accomplishments. A life spent indoors concocting various chemical objects would be an ideal existence for many INFPs. INTPs would also do well devising new recipes and experimenting with new ideas, it wouldn’t be surprising for an INTP witcher to get so lost in creating potions they forget about the contract the potions are required for.

1 School Of The Crane: ISFJ & ENTP

The School of the Crane is another elusive group of witchers. They are a little more well-known though, as they are witchers who train to hunt monsters in the air and in the open ocean. As such it’s entirely possible they are nomadic like the Cats, but instead spend their days on vessels on the open sea, traveling to wherever they are needed, fighting with both swords and newly invented guns.

ISFJs could find a home on the open ocean, it takes cooperation to keep a ship seaworthy, especially when tackling beasts that stalk the open waters. ENTPs would make ideal Cranes given their passion for travel and new experiences.
